Position Description

Class B Truck Driver-Field Technician!  Monday - Friday, 1st Shift

 

Position Summary:  Our drivers deliver copy machines and are responsible for unloading, setting up the copier, programming them & training the office staff on basic usage. Qualified drivers must have a basic understanding of computers, technology.  We provide a 90 day training period to ensure our drivers are trained to be successful in this role.

 

Pay:  $18/hour during 45 day training period.

About the position:

  • Full Time, Class B Truck Driver-Field Technician
  • License Requirement:  Must have a Class B License and meet our driving requirements (please see below)
  • Regional - Possibly up to 2 overnights per week. Hotel Accommodations provided.
  • Delivery Areas: MA, RI, CT, NH, ME, VT
  • Dispatch times:  1st Shift
  • Work week:  Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays if requested by customer
  • Product: Copiers
  • Skillset: This individual will provide basic level tutorial training for copier usage and must have basic level computer skills for set up. Strong customer service skills are essential.

Safety is a priority at Ryder! Qualified candidates cannot have more than a combination of 2 tickets/accidents in the last two years.

  • 1 year experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR

Requirements

  • Minimum 22 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in appropriate vehicle(s):
    • 12 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note:  Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

  • This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
